Before we headed down to the Bay Area to see Sweeney Todd at the Santa Rosa Junior College, I was an early bird this morning and took a trip to the Nevada County Grower’s Market that’s held every Saturday morning at the North Star Family House.
I picked up fresh roasted garlic bread, whole grain bread, kumquats, lots of fresh greens to include kale, cilantro, sweet onions and garlic. I even pick up a couple of apple shaped gourds. Everything smells amazing and fresh!
And while I was at the market, I snapped these shots.

I would do all my shopping at a farmers market if they had them twice a week. It’s the perfect way to shop if it’s a true producer’s market. I love talking to the people who grow or make the products. Lovely photos.
Thanks Maureen! I agree; In our community and surrounding areas, there will be one farmer’s market on Saturday then in other community (town close by), they’ll have one on Tuesday and Thursday. The great thing is that I live within minutes of each one. There’s nothing better than fresh fruits and veggies picked that same morning. There is something so satisfying about purchasing locally grown produce.
