Shakeology Meal Replacement: My Personal Experience

Fed up with the cycle of insanity, when I started my clean eating journey and working out at home, I decided to give Shakeology  Meal Replacement a go. It curbed my cravings!

I’m an on the go woman MOM. I have a family, a 45 hr a week, sometimes more, home business. And on top of that, I run and manage a store 7 hours a day for our client. EEK.

Planning my day and week is crucial. Nutrition and making sure I have my nutrition correct is something that used to always stress me out. If I wasn’t thinking about my waistline, I’m worried about what I ate, what I have to eat, shopping for it, (continued rant).

I replaced one meal a day with Shakeology. I could have it for breakfast, snack, lunch or dinner. I usually choose breakfast on the days I work in the store.

I purchased a 30-day supply on Home Direct which allows me to get it monthly with no worries about having to re-order or run out and as a Beachbody coach, I get it a little cheaper. It comes in Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry, Greenberry and there are even vegan flavors. The Chocolate Vegan is my favorite.

I decided to share my experience with Shakeology as I’m sure there are those of you who are skeptical about trying new meal replacement shakes. And I’ve mentioned it previously in posts, along with recipes but not really expressed my experience. That’s going to change.  So here you go….this is my journey.

Healthy Breakfast Smoothie


Start weight: (Back in August 2014= 175 – that was my pregnancy weight) CW: 154

Height: 5’7.

Activity Level: 5-7 times a week, 30-minute sessions, Cardio + Weights. Sometimes Pilates, PIYO

I will sometimes mix the shake with water, but my favorite is with unsweetened almond milk with half a banana, and a teaspoon of peanut butter, 3/4 cup water, and a few ice cubes.

Sometimes, I’ll even put in little quick oats. The texture is THICK.  Which I like because it makes me feel full. The taste isn’t bad and doesn’t leave a chalky aftertaste as most meal replacement shakes.

During the day, I don’t feel bloated, I feel pretty good and can make it to snack and lunch without the constant feeling of hunger in my stomach. I’m also drinking my water. If I’m eating correctly through the day, drinking my water and drinking my Shakeology, my body feels good and I’m not starving by the time dinner rolls around. This is a great experience for me since I was so used to skipping meals before.
