Back in August, I shared the start of my clean eating and fitness journey here on the new Noel’s Kitchen Tips blog …..It’s one journey that I’m sure many of you out there can relate to. The journey to a healthier you through weight-loss, eating healthy and exercise. I was at a very different point in my life than I am today.
I was one year and seven months into working our family’s online consignment biz while running a client’s secondhand store full time, exhausted and very depressed about my body. I knew I had to do something but going to the gym every day just wasn’t financially practical for me and my family.
I needed something I could either do early in the morning before the family woke up or while the kids were in school. Then, out of nowhere a friend of mine messaged me on facebook and told me about the 7-Day Eat Clean Challenge and asked if I wanted to be a part of it. I agreed to give it a try. I signed up for the free account on teambeachbody.com and started my profile.
I took pictures of myself so that I could have something to compare to later on. I didn’t share the pictures with anyone, but I kept them to myself for motivation and accountability. I was added to the 7-Day Challenge Facebook group where I was provided with tons of motivation and support from other people who were doing the same challenge.

My Clean Eating and Fitness Journey Update
Since my clean eating and fitness journey began, I have lost 12 pounds. I wake up every morning at 5 am, get my 30-minute workouts in and I was sweat profusely but I love it! Every day, while the family was sleeping, I’d grab my workout clothes from the side of my bed and head to the living room and do my workout.
My husband has been very supportive and has joined me in this journey and we have slowly transitioned the kids into this new lifestyle. It has become a routine and I am just watching the numbers drop on the scale. I’m starting to have more energy and I am doing all right.
Unfortunately, I hit a point about a week ago where I stopped losing weight. When I took my 30-day pictures I was sad that I didn’t see more of a change. I was discouraged and frustrated with it. I was working out so hard and watching what I ate but I couldn’t drop the pounds. I was reminded about the principle that your weight loss is 80% nutrition, 10% exercise and 10% genetics. Plus, your muscle weighs more than fat. I couldn’t see the difference in myself, but others could.
Clean Eating Lifestyle
Since then, I changed up my workout routine, added the walking back in and another 10-minute workout in the evening and immediately started losing weight again and I feel even better! I am addicted to a clean eating lifestyle and if I didn’t eat clean my body would feel sluggish and heavy. I would start to feel bloated. I have totally changed the way I shop for food and cook my meals for my family. I’m close to my 60-day mark but I can already tell a huge difference in my body.
I even got up the courage a few weeks ago to post mine before and after pictures on facebook for accountability. I am 25 pounds away from the goal that I set back on August 1st.
Home Workout Routines
So far, I have finished two rounds of the 21-Day Fix and have achieved a few of my fitness goals and have gained my self-confidence back. I continue to do my home workout routines and share the ups and downs with the group of individuals who have motivated me through this process. I wouldn’t have made it through without them.
Because of the great support I got from the group I decided that I want to do the same thing for other people. It is so hard to make the choice to commit to changing your life and exercising. I did it and I want to help others do it too. I want to be your support system and motivation to stay focused.
Personal coaching is my passion and I love helping others. This is just another way I can share the knowledge I have gained about weight loss and nutrition with others.
