Celebrate Summer on 4th of July with Homemade Lemonade

Incorporate summer into your Independence Day Celebration!

Lemonade is a favorite and goes quickly in our house. It’s a very refreshing drink on a hot summer day. In fact, we’re going to be bringing some in a cooler and serving it at our Independence Day BBQ Celebration with the family. It’s a delicious way to get your day’s supply of Vitamin C and much cheaper to make than by making it with the store bought lemonade. 🙂

Homemade Lemonade

  • 1 1/2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice or reconstituted lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 5 cups water
  • slices of fresh lemon
  • ice

  • In a large pitcher, combine the lemon juice and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved. Stir in the water. Serve over crushed ice. Add a lemon slice to glass.

Make it easy for guests to help themselves to a refreshing refill by placing a large glass canister filled with lemonade on the table to add color and act as part of the centerpiece. Scatter fresh lemons around the table to add cheery pops of yellow and a clean citrus fragrance.
