Life can get a little chaotic at times and at some point a busy moms needs to find balance. I’ve decided to create a Working Mom’s Home Management Notebook of my own to help me with the challenging tasks of everyday life in running a household. It will include a monthly calendar, list of important dates, bill paying, goals to planning a family vacation, meal planning, cooking, grocery lists, household chores, kid’s yearly events, topic ideas for writing on my blog and having moments where I can pick up a good book and read without worrying what has to get done. This will be my guidance for giving me some direction, goals, and checklists for my job here at home, at work and life in general and I’ll be talking about its contents for the next few weeks. And in the end, I’ll be sharing some tools I’ve created for my own personal book – maybe they’ll come in handy for you, too.
I was giving the inspiration for this the other day while I was browsing through Barnes and Noble looking at all the books. I had gone in there to pick up a copy of Sue Monk Kidd’s (author of The Secret Life of Bees and The Mermaid Chair) Biography written wih her daughter Ann Kidd Taylor. The book is called Traveling with Pomegranates. It’s about a mother and daughter’s journey to places likes Greece, Turkey and France. It’s about redefining herself and rediscovering one another. At some point, you have to stop and think Am I going in the right direction?
One of the ideas I had for my meal planning section was lists of items in the kitchen I use when cooking. Organizing my cupboards will be a chore for later this Spring. These lists will start out with pantry items then move into my most common used appliances. Do they need to be upgraded? Are they working at their best performance to make my time in the kitchen valuable? Is there a better one out there that does a better job? Here’s a couple of the worksheet pages I created already. I’ll be sharing all kinds of worksheets that I come up with that will be designed hopeffully to steer us in the right direction.
Stocking Your Pantry Worksheets
If you’re starting from scratch, buy a few of the following items to help establish your pantry stock. When there is more than one type or flavor, buy your family’s favorite first; then add to your stock with other favorites.
How do you find balance in your life as a busy mom or family?
