New Appliances & Staying On Track With Eating From The Pantry

Sorry it’s a late post, I wanted to post this last night before heading to bed, but I just ran out of time and I promised to keep you updated with our meals for the day! As I mentioned in a couple posts back, this week’s going to be a little challenging around dinnertime BUT that doesn’t mean I can’t eat healthy and stick with my goals. Right?

In regards to the eating challenge for the week, this week’s going to be a little creative for us since we have to use what’s in the pantry, but we won’t leave you hanging. I will run to the grocery store later today to pick up a few things I need to round out my meal plan. Just take a look at our my plans for dinner are for the this week…

  • Monday – Black Bean Mushroom Burgers
  • Tuesday – Rosemary Garlic Chicken
  • Wednesday – Broccoli Quiche
  • Thursday – Whole Wheat Pasta with Homemade Sauce
  • Friday – Turkey Burgers
  • Saturday – Leftovers

You see what I mean?  Nothing too fancy!  Don’t worry, we’ll set you up with some great breakfast and lunch recipes as well as some tips & tricks for snacks and fueling your body with the proper nutrients.  How does that sound?

I am also starting a free 21 day clean eating group on May 4th. I’m getting excited about it! If you have not messaged me about this and would like to be included, comment below or send me an email message.

Morning Check In…

I started off my day with a warm glass of lemon water and full body stretch.  My muscles were tight and I needed to do some much needed yard work!  Once I was loosened up, I threw myself one serious dance party listening to tunes on my iPod as I mowed the side and both back lawns in our yard, wrote out my to do list for the day, and popped in a load of laundry!  And when it’s sunny and warm, I try and utilize our clothesline as much as possible to dry our clothesDoesn’t it feel great to start your week productive?

After an hour and a half of cardio and strength, mowing those lawns, I made myself a shake (3/4 cup water, 1 cup ice,  1 scoop Vanilla Shakeology, 1/2 frozen banana, and a teaspoon of natural peanut butter). And the Shakeology… It’s like heaven in my mouth!  It’s phenomenal!  Definitely one of the BEST tasting powder shakes I’ve ever tried!  It’s not chalky or earthy like most of those protein shakes and it definitely doesn’t have a funky aftertaste.

The Shakeology is my healthiest meal of the day and is a powerful Super food formula designed to give your body the perfect combination of nutrients to help give you energy, reduce cravings, maintain healthy body weight, and support your immune system. It contains over 70 healthy ingredients from around the world, including super-proteins, super-fruits, antioxidants, super greens, phytonutrients, 9 adaptogen herbs (more than any other shake!), pre- and probiotics, and digestive enzymes.   If you have questions, I’d be happy to answer them in the comments below!

Next, came our new but gently used appliances. Our dryer finally after 10 years, went on the fritz and a friend just bought a new washer and dryer and was kind enough to pay it forward and give to us. They work much better than ours ever did. Even the washer. I can’t tell you how long it took for that cold water to flow through into our old wash machine. Drove me nuts it would take almost two hours to wash one load of laundry.

For a late afternoon snack, I made some roasted chickpeas. I cooked them in the morning and roasted them in the oven seasoned with a little bit of olive oil and chili seasoning.

DINNER: Black Bean Mushroom Burgers. A little messy to make, and not very pretty but still good and healthy. I forgot to take a pic, but promise to make them again and share the recipe.

Alright, time to get to get the kids to school, get a quick workout in and to the store!  I’ll check back with you later today regarding lunch, dinner, and my workout.  Lots to do!  Have a great day!
