First, I want to wish you all a great holiday weekend. I hope for those of you with children that haven’t started school yet, that you are able to enjoy a fun weekend with your family and have a successful start to a new school year. And for those with children who have already started, how has your family’s first few weeks gone?
There are lots of fun and exciting things happening in my life this week! With the secondhand store, I’ve been so out of my typical routine of blogging, I realize that I was started to really miss writing and sharing recipes and tips with all of you. Lately, I’ve just been active on Instagram and my own personal Facebook page.
So what’s exciting you ask?
I mentioned our family is now Committed to Eating Clean to Live a more Healthy Lifestyle. I am a 42 year old mother and wife to the most greatest man a girl could ask for. In the past, I was always able to maintain my weight and be somewhat active with either small workouts or walking and even participating in annual walkathons for charities until these past few years when I became less motivated due to the stress of the work atmosphere I was in and just down right tired of it all. When I was younger, I always had the energy and a good metabolism and would eat the same types of foods. I grew up loving to cook and be in the kitchen creating meals for my family. I never really paid attention to calories, ingredients or portions. Big mistake! I ended up gaining 40 pounds and not feeling healthy or energetic at all. My family and I weren’t overeating, but let’s face it, my husband and I are not getting any younger and being healthy and staying active is a positive thing for the whole family.
I tried many times to lose the weight but my weight just plateaued. So after being introduced to a better way of eating and exercising, I started my weight loss and clean eating journey on August 1,2014. I started off with the 7-Day FREE Clean Eating Challenge and I found the correct way to eating healthy, tracking my food, drinking lots of water and working out. I stuck with the meal plan and didn’t splurge because I was determined to feel better and knew if I wanted to have the positive results I wanted, it was going to take motivation and hard work on my part. I realized at this point in my life, this is the only way I could lose the weight and keep it off. At the end of my 7-Day Free Cleaning Challenge, I had lost 2 pounds. WAHOO!!! 2 pounds is good for one week. Healthy too.
I felt really good after the challenge and wanted to add Shakeology, which is a meal replacement shake that is so incredibly healthy, there’s no other single food item out there that can supply you with all the nutrients, vitamins, proteins, and minerals in the amounts you need the way one delicious shake can to my meal plan.
With reading so many inspiring stories about Beachbody and the results individuals were achieving, I decided to continue on with the 21-Day Fix Essential Program, added Shakeology to my meal plan and signed up as a Beachbody Coach. I want to share, help and inspire others with their health and fitness,and to try something new. No I am not expert and I am not a certified trainer but I am someone, a mom that knows what it takes and what struggles we all face because I have been there first hand. I would love to help you too!
I decided on using the name Fun Fitness Mom (FunFitnessMom) as my Beachbody user name because I am a mom but also because I want to make this a fun journey to a better lifestyle and fitness routine but still determined. You’ll see some changes to the way I create meals for my family, and the recipes and ingredients I use to create those meals. I’ll also be sharing a few health tips along the way. I’m not changing how we spend those family mealtimes, I’m making them better.
I hope you’ll continue to follow along and maybe even share some of your family’s health and fitness challenges and success stories. Or maybe you’re interested in learning a better way to cook and eat. I’d love to help and inspire you.
