Need ideas for your weekly meal plan? It’s time for another weekly menu.  I enjoy menu planning because of  the simplicity it provides for my life. It enables me to decrease my grocery shopping excursions to twice a month and it allows me to  have more free time to focus on my family and home.

For ideas in the weekly meal plan, we’ll be focusing on a variety of family meals. Some of the recipes you’ll find on my Recipe Index page with a grocery list included.

My Weekly Meal Plan

The week is starting off a little sketchy but I have a back up plan in motion for the beginning of this week.  I’ll be utilizing the crock pot and stove top at the start of this week due to an oven issue where the bottom heating element for my oven sizzled out. The replacement part should arrive on Tuesday and I’ll be back in full swing late Tuesday or early Wednesday. Anyone else ever have this happen to them?

I started putting a plan together last Friday when I knew we wouldn’t be using the oven. Since we still have so much in the freezer, I won’t be needing to go to the grocery store this week. I am loving all the fresh produce that’s in season now and with Easter coming up, there will be lots of great Easter clearance deals starting next week. A great opportunity to add items to my stockpile.

My weekly meal plan and shopping list is completed and posted on our fridge:

Breakfasts

Will remain the same with some variety: Scrambled or Fried Eggs, Breakfast BurritosOatmeal PacketsGreen Smoothies, some type of muffins, Homemade Granola Bars, Cold Cereal.

Lunches

Are usually a bit more flexible, as often times we’ll simply have leftovers from a previous night’s meal, but if not, I always have ingredients on hand in the pantry for: Egg Salad Sandwiches, Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Peanut Butter and Jelly or regular sandwiches like Ham, Turkey and Cheese all served with fresh fruit and veggies.

In addition to our weekly menu, we have a baking day on a weekly basis. Every Sunday afternoon, we will rotate through restocking some nutritious snacks and baked goods, such as granola, protein bars, granola bars, muffins, and/or biscuits  for various meals.

Dinner (recipes will post throughout the week)

Sunday: Family Style Chili

Monday: Bangers and Mash

Tuesday: Mexibar- Crock Pot Cheese Enchiladas, Spanish Rice, Beans and Toppings

Wednesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise, Garlic Bread

Thursday: French Omelette (less than 5 minutes to prepare and cook and you will be sitting down in no time. Add a little ham on the side or a salad and you have a lovely light meal.)

Friday: Pizza Night! Homemade Pizza Dough with Homemade Pizza Sauce (Since we have chicken on hand, hub’s and I will probably have BBQ Chicken Pizza and the kids will have pepperoni or cheese.)

Saturday: Breakfast For Dinner (saving some time by cooking potatoes in the crock pot.)
