Our Family Movie Night!

One of the things that we love to do as a family is to watch movies.  Make Pizza, Chili, Tacos or  something that’s really simple and quick. It’s usually a weekly event. It’s extremely rare that we go to the movie theatre. We watch movies at home and we have a little ritual that goes on.

  1. Popcorn bag in microwave, theater style is best.
  2. Kids grabs their bags of popcorn and pour into their popcorn bowl.
  3. Set the movie to play.
  4. Somebody has to go to the bathroom in the middle of the movie. Usually at the best part. Press pause.
  5. Enjoy a great flick and laugh and cry together.
  6. Fun memories are made.

What are your family movie rituals?

  2. Every Friday night is movie night at our house. The menu is pizza, pepperoni pizza and a mushroom pizza for the adults. Toppings on the adult pizza change with the season. Plus, the kids can invite their friends to come over. It is a great time.

  3. Hi Karyn, It truly is a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing your Family Movie Night!

  4. I love it. These are the types of things kids will remember and probably pass down to their kids (although they might be watching movies in space by the time they're all grown with kids!!). Repeating family traditions…I'm going to have to implement more in my family. Thanks for the idea!

  5. Jessica,

Your welcome! I agree! Pretty soon DVD's and BluRay will be obsolete and technology will come up with something new. I'd love to hear some of the fun ideas you and your family come up with.
