21 Day Fix Extreme – A New Beginning

Three days ago, I started the 21 Day Fix Extreme and I was so excited, but I was also a little bit nervous. It’s a new beginning to a whole different type of workout. I was worried about doing the workouts. I love to push myself and I think these workouts are going to be just the push I need to take my fitness to a whole other level, but I was worried about not being able to do them correctly or have the strength to do certain sets.

Having the nerve damage on my left side, means my left side has never been as strong as my right and I’ve always had to compensate for that. But then I thought about how great Autumn was in the 21 Day Fix. Autumn demonstrates everything before you start each set and of course if I need to modify, I just follow the modifier girl.  I have to say, that I could never hold a weight in my left hand for very long before I started the 21 Day Fix program. I feel like my left side is getting much stronger. I’m now able to hold a 5 pound weight through a whole set in my left hand. That may not seem heavy to some but it was a challenge to be able to do that in the beginning without it bothering my wrist and hand.

I know this is my first round of the Extreme and I may not do it perfectly the first time. That’s okay. I don’t have to be perfect. Just keep myself going for the full 60 seconds. This first week, is a learning curve. Some of the moves I’ve never done before. Yesterday’s workout Upper Fix Extreme was great. It uses weights for nearly every move, starting with the Push ups, and 1/2 push ups. I really never realized how difficult they would be when done for 60 seconds. I personally took a couple breaks and jumped back in because it was so hard! Like I said before, Autumn, the instructor for this program, is awesome! She clearly explains and demonstrates each move and is continually motivating you to push through it and reminding you why you chose this program in the first place…Her quote on the blackboard was “Build a Body you’re proud of”. Day 2 in the Books!!

The Eating Plan

I love the eating plan for the 21 Day Fix Extreme. It offers a variety of simple, healthy breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and dressings designed to work perfectly with the color-coded containers. I’m going to continue for the next 21 days giving it my all. I will tell you I am sure I am going to have the occasional treat, but I am definitely going to try to stick to it as much as possible. I really want to see what my body can do if I am a little more disciplined on my diet. I definitely want to lose that last 20 pounds.

I truly believe this program is exactly what I need. I will continue drinking my shakeology. This time, I’m alternating each month vanilla and chocolate. I am going to start with the 1,500-1,799 calorie eating plan. The calorie chart in the eating plan tells me exactly the number of portions I’m allotted per container, per day. And it always helps to write it all down which is why I love the tally sheets in the back of the plan book.

Well, here it goes I will check in with you tomorrow. I can’t wait to fill you in on how today goes. I changed up my workout routine for the first week. I now workout when I get home from the store. I want to see if this makes a difference in my weight plateau. Throughout this journey I will be sharing with you my grocery list, as well as, my meals and any challenges I face.
