Hi Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend with your family! Did you do anything fun? We kicked off the weekend with a school walk-a-thon on Friday, followed by a much needed day of relaxation on Saturday. Yesterday, we enjoyed a nice Sunday Family Dinner celebrating our oldest son’s acceptance to the Music Institute in LA. He’ll be leaving tomorrow evening as school starts up next week. I’m excited to hear about which classes he chooses on Wednesday, the day of registration. We have a bright, talented star in our future!
This week, I thought I share a few grocery buying tips that I’ve added to this week’s dinner menu. There’s lots of good things in season right now to add to your weekniught meals.
Here’s what’s going on with this week’s weekly menu:

My weekly meal plan and shopping list is completed and posted on our fridge:
Breakfast options:
Muffins, Fresh Fruit, Homemade Greek Yogurt, cereal, toast, and eggs
Lunch options:
Egg Salad Sandwiches, Pizza bagels, leftovers, protein shakes, salad, fresh cut veggies and/or fruit
Suppers Your Family Will Love
Need ideas for your weekly meal plan? It’s time for another weekly menu. I enjoy menu planning because of the simplicity it provides for my life. It enables me to decrease my grocery shopping excursions to twice a month and it allows me to have more free time to focus on my family and home. For ideas in the weekly meal plan, we’ll be focusing on a variety of family meals. You’ll find the recipes on the weekly meal plan also available on my Recipe Index page with a grocery list included.
Dinner (recipes will post throughout the week)
Sunday: Verde Chicken Enchiladas (I prepared in the morning so we’d have time to visit with our son), Mexican Rice, Cornbread
Monday: Zesty Turkey Burgers, Grilled Tomatoes and Roasted Potatoes
Tuesday: Tator Tot Casserole with Cornbread
Wednesday: Beef and Broccoli Stir-Fry, Egg Rolls and a green salad * Broccoli is in season and should be on sale at your local grocery store. It’s a perfect time to have some fresh meals to go with it.
Thursday: Bean Tostadas, Apple Fruit Salad (now’s the best time to grab some of your favorite apples. I enjoy making Homemade Apple Butter in the crock pot.)
Friday: Family Favorites Night ~Italian Family Dinner Night; Featured Movie~Lady and the Tramp. As we gear up to our Disney Family Vacation at the end of the year, I thought it might be kind of fun to have some Disney theme Movie Dinners~ Crock Pot Spaghetti Sauce makes for a great Spaghetti and Meatballs dinner after a crazy week at the office. (Don’t forget that September is the month to be stocking up on tomato products.)
Saturday: Homemade Pizza Dough with Homemade Pizza Sauce topped with leftovers from the fridge and fresh veggies

What a great site for busy families. I wish I had found your site earlier when I was raising young kids.
Just wanted you to know that I have found a secret for making vegetables (and just about everything else) a favorite for kids. They love the sweet/sour taste of my balsamic glaze. (And it’s good for them too.)
What a wonderful service to all you are doing.
Buon appetito,

Thanks Janet! Our family loves the wonderful flavor of balsamic vinegar and I use it in a variety of dishes.
